SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION (please read):

Purpose: In keeping with the mission of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., to promote academic excellence, the Eta Upsilon Lambda Chapter is delighted to offer scholarships to graduating seniors who attend high school in Southeast, Arkansas.

Scholarship Details: This $500 award is a one-time book scholarship.

Applicant Criteria: 

• Must be a graduating high school senior (2024-2025 academic year).

• Must complete the application in full.

• Must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA.

• Must attend a high school in one of the following cities: Crossett, McGehee, Lake Village, Dermott, Monticello (Drew Central and Monticello School Districts), Warren, or Hamburg.

ALL REQUIRED APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST BE COMPLETED, SCANNED, AND UPLOADED BY THE END OF BUSINESS DAY FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2025!

The recipient must submit proof of enrollment from the college/university of choice to receive scholarship payment.

Applicant Items to Submit: 

• Completed scholarship application

• Official high school transcript

• Copy of acceptance letter from College/University

• One letter of recommendation (from teacher, administrator, community leader)

• Short Essay on one of the following topics:

  • How did you overcome any past academic deficiencies and how will you sustain success in college?

  • How involved are you in the community and what changes will you make upon receiving your degree?

• Essay should adhere to (a) a minimum of 500 words, (b) must be typed in Times New Roman style, font size 12, and double-spaced. No handwritten essays will be accepted.
